At age 18 I became a fisherman, doing all kinds of fishing, including diving. That's pretty normal for here, because Río Lagartos is a fishing village. However, after fishing for eight years I decided I wanted to work with visitors, showing off our local natural wonders.
Over the years I've taken courses in bird identification, emphasizing migrants and and endemics. I've had classes in environmental studies, customer service and English. In fact, if you come here I'll do my best to help you see and do what you want. And after we're finished, maybe you'll stop by our Restaurante "Las Palapas de la Torreja " where you can enjoy our best service, and meet the rest of my family, some of the closest in the picture below. I'm the big fellow on the right, proudly between my mother and my wife Lupita.

When
I was 20 years old I married my wife Lupita, who came from Mérida, our state capital.
After two years we had our first child, Elberth. Then 6 years later Efrain came along, and
then the next year there was Regina.
